Aim & Scope
PMRP Journal of Research – Part E: Design, Innovation and Creativity publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed research that advances engineering design, innovation processes, and creative problem-solving approaches. The journal serves as a platform for researchers, designers, academicians, and industry professionals to share novel design concepts, methodologies, tools, and case studies that address real-world engineering and societal challenges.
The scope includes, but is not limited to:
- Engineering Design & Product Development – conceptual design, embodiment design, design optimization, CAD/CAE-driven design, design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA).
- Innovation & Design Thinking – ideation methods, creativity tools, TRIZ, design thinking frameworks, user-centered and human-centered design.
- Sustainable & Green Design – eco-design, lifecycle assessment, sustainable materials, circular economy–oriented product development.
- Industrial & System Design – industrial design practices, system-level design, ergonomics, usability engineering, and aesthetics in engineering products.
- Prototyping & Fabrication Technologies – rapid prototyping, additive manufacturing, smart materials, digital fabrication, design validation.
- Interdisciplinary Design Applications – biomedical device design, assistive technologies, smart products, IoT-enabled design solutions.
- Innovation Management & Entrepreneurship – design-driven innovation, technology commercialization, startup case studies, intellectual property–enabled design.
- Creativity in Engineering Education – design pedagogy, project-based learning, innovation-oriented curriculum development.
The journal publishes research articles, review papers, design case studies, and technical notes, as short communications or short papers limited to a maximum of 6 printed pages, 15 references, and 5 figures. Contributions should emphasize innovative design methodologies and creative engineering solutions with clear relevance to academia, industry, and society.
The journal particularly encourages high-quality idea-driven research, including works derived from or extending existing concepts, with or without prototype development, experimental validation, or theoretical analysis, provided the novelty, clarity, and engineering significance are well justified.
